As we start 2026, it is time to look back at 2025 and see some of the numbers from last year for our California Chins - Chinchilla Rescue:
- Decorated our first San Jose Christmas in the Park Tree.
- Supported the reimagined Danny the Dragon ride @ SJ Happy Hallow Zoo.
- Participated in... June's "CA Adopt-A-Pet Day" at our Sunnyvale HQ.
- Continued scholarships at both UC Davis and Foothill-De Anza.
- 3 Outdoor Events (Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Safari West).
- 7 ChinDome (Petting Zoo) Events were held at Parties, Meet/Greet Events, etc.
- 13 Educational ChinTalks at various schools and Safari West (Conservation Dinner Series)
- 17 Grooming Appts.
- 72 Boarders were welcomed at our Chinchill-Inn B&B
- 78 Chinchillas were surrendered to our rescue.
- 72 Chinchillas were adopted during 2025 (~56% adoption rate)
- 14 adoptions during the CA Adopt-A-Pet day
- 110 Adoption/Informational Appts
- 19 Cage Matchup Appts.

Happy Thanksgiving All!! We are thankful for all the wonderful chinchillas in our lives and of course all the wonderful people that have welcomes these adorable chins into their homes.

A wonderful surprise when I got home today.. We were gifted 7bags of delicious (for chins) Apple Sticks from Graves Family Orchard @gravesfamily_orchard. Our Chins are going to have some Thanksgiving Treats on Thursday (please don't tell them, it's a surprise). 😊

Our 1st "Chin-gle Bell" Tree for San Jose's "Christmas in the Park" is now decorated and ready for people to start seeing it on Friday when the event opens.
